Connecting The Gospel To Our Daily Lives

Once a mission or parish becomes healthy, the Becoming Truly Human Project can be
implemented to keep new people coming back for more, and experiencing the life of the Church.

Even as missions and parishes are preparing to offer this program, the contents of the lessons can
serve as an internal inspiration in the lives to those testing and becoming familiar with the
program and its contents, to rediscover their own faith, to renew their own zeal for the life of
God, thus lighting an ember of Divine fire in the Church.

But the program’s effectiveness is ultimately dependent upon the church having competent
choirs and chanters, with congregations that are actively participating in the music and the
prayers of the services, together with good preaching and teaching that truly inspires people to
repentance and holiness in an ever-increasing climate of marginalization and hostility.

In the words of Bishop ANTHONY:

“Presenting is going to ‘get’ them there.
Preaching is going to ‘teach’ them there.

Praising is going to ‘keep’ them there.”

'tis not the time to make assumptions

Understanding Millennials is a new resource to help our congregations engage with and understand this new generation. We need to understand Millennials for two reasons: 1) In order to keep our younger generation in the Church, and 2) In order to bring unchurched or lapsed millennials into the Church.

The Becoming Truly Human documentary film was conceived and designed to engage Millennial “Nones” in a conversation, with the hopes of establishing enough of a personal relationship with them that we can offer them an opportunity to make an informed decision about the Orthodox Faith.

After using the Understanding Millennials resource in our parishes, we will we be able to use the Becoming Truly Human film more effectively as a tool to engage non-Orthodox in a conversation.

If you appreciate this resource being offered by the Dept. of Missions & Evangelism, then please consider making a donation to help us cover the cost the printing and shipping.
