Antiochian Mission Trips

Someone will say, “You have faith, and I have works.”

Show me your faith without your works,

and I will show you my faith by my works.

James 2:18

The Dept. of Missions & Evangelism is scouting locations. Our goal in these trips is to provide an opportunity for service and training on how to be a catalyst for change in our communities.

This includes our mission trips scheduled for Pittsburgh this summer. We will resume our mission trips in 2021.

St. Athanasius College is hosting a young adult internship this summer at Neighborhood Resilience Project. Learn more here:

Are you interested in learning how to live a life of service year-round? That's what Fr. Paul Abernathy and his awesome team are offering! On our Pittsburgh 2021 Mission Trips, volunteers will serve in the Hill District of Pittsburgh and be trained on how to be a catalyst for change in their own communities. This mission trip is a combination of service and training.

To learn more about the background of Fr. Paul and his leadership team, please watch Fr. Paul's talk at TEDxPittsburgh.

  • A "trip" is 6 days long: 2 days of travel, 4 workdays. Wednesday is arrival day and Tuesday is departure day.

  • Food, lodging, plus Catalyst training, all for $400 per person!

    • If you do not need lodging, your cost is only $275.

  • No need to rent a car! We will be providing free shuttles.

  • If you need financial assistance, we have two fundraising ideas.

    • First, you can open a gofundme account and spread the word with your friends, family, and coworkers.

    • Second, you can order "Sacred Meals" at a special discounted rate and sell them in your parish and at local churches to fundraise the amount needed.

    • If you have any questions, please contact us.
